About WiDS | News And Events

WiDS Central Massachusetts @ WPI is independently organized by the Data Science Program at Worcester Polytechnic Institute as part of a global initiative to increase the participation of women in data science and to highlight the exceptional work of women in the field.

Each year, more than 200 locations around the world join the Global WiDS Conference, which aims to inspire and educate data scientists of all genders, while actively supporting women in the field.

The WiDS Global mission is to achieve 30% representation of women in education, innovation, and leadership by 2030, with a long-term vision of full and equal representation in decision-making, economic opportunity, and prosperity. WiDS Central Massachusetts @ WPI is proud to contribute to this important global effort to advance women in STEM.

This half-day technical conference is an inclusive and equal-opportunity event that showcases cutting-edge research and applications in data science across diverse domains. It also offers a valuable platform to connect with professionals, researchers, and students in the field. This year’s conference will be held in person on the WPI campus, with plenty of opportunities for interaction and networking between presenters and attendees.

Everyone is welcome to attend this one-day event. While the themes focus on challenges and opportunities relevant to women in data science, the content is valuable and engaging for all participants.
